Professional Standards
We are members of The British Acupuncture Council, which requires its members to be properly trained in the theory and clinical practice of acupuncture, and to have passed examinations in Western medical sciences. The Council provides Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance for its U.K members. We are bound by the Council's Code of Ethics which covers relations with patients, fellow practitioners and the general public. We are also bound by the Council's Code of Practice and by Calderdale Council Bye-laws, which both include stringent standards of hygiene, and of sterilisation of needles and equipment. These standards were set with guidence from the Department of Health's Public Laboratory Service, and provide complete safety against all forms of infectious diseases.You can obtain a copy of the Code of Ethics, and other information from:
